Gedney Howe,III, a prominent lawyer and Helen Geer, a Christie’s Great Estates affiliate commissioned our staff to auction the “Biltmore of Charleston” the largest private residence in Charleston, South Carolina USA. The 24,000 +/- square foot Calhoun Mansion, built in 1886, was owned by the Vice President of the United States John C. Calhoun’s grandson Patrick Calhoun. It has 35 rooms, grand ballroom, japanese water gardens, 16 fireplaces, 26 seat dining room table, 75 foot high domed ceiling, khoi pond, fountains, private elevator, 3 levels of piazzas, 11 chandeliers, 45 foot glass skylight, 14 foot high ceilings and 5 stories including the basement and the 90 foot cupola overlooking the Charleston Harbor. C. Michael Shalloway is a Board Certified Specialist in Elder Law by the Florida Bar and practices Elder and Disability Law with his son in West Palm Beach in the firm of Shalloway & Shalloway, P.A.

Shalloway earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida. He is admitted to practice before the Florida Supreme Court, the United States Supreme Court and the Trial Bar of the Federal District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He is a former judge and was selected by his fellow judges as Administrative Judge for Palm Beach County Court. He has written several sections of the Florida Bar’s Board Certification Review Course that prepares candidates for board examination and has regularly lectured for the Bar for that course.

Michael Shalloway was Anthony DeBartolo CEO of DeBartolo Financial’s Corporate attorney and defended us thru mediation in a US $ 9 million law suit that Tony, Grace & I were named as defendants. We settled the suit for $1,200 and could have counter sued for a frivolous law suit. Michael was also Judy Lukacs family lawyer who had named me in her will as her daughter, Angela’s, guardian in the event of Judy’s death.

James L. Eisenberg

James L. Eisenberg, graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Industrial Engineering) Degree from the University of Michigan in 1971. After taking time off to travel, he moved to Florida and attended law school at the University of Miami, graduating with his Juris Doctor in 1976. While attending the University of Miami, College of Law, Mr. Eisenberg was on the Dean’s List, and he received a “Book Award” as top student in his criminal law class.

Mr. Eisenberg began the practice of law with the Office of the Public Defender in Palm Beach County. While practicing in that office, Mr. Eisenberg tried numerous jury trials at all levels of the court system. His trial work at the time included some of the most notorious murder cases of the day.
