The last time we attended the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show we sponsored a booth for our Carnival Resorts & Casinos, Freeport, Grand Bahamas Event where Sir Freddie Laker resided. Merrill Lynch funded the projects. Billionaire Carl Icahn was aboard The White Rabbit US $ 25 Million FedShip with an additional US $ 10 Million in artwork. The owner was Hong Kong Billionaire Lee Ka Shing, who owns 51% interest in The Grand Bahama Development Authority and the Panama Canal thru Hutchinson Whampoa.

Sir Ka-shing Li, GBM, KBE,[3] JP (born 13 June 1928 in Chaozhou, China)[4][5] is a Hong Kong business magnate, investor, and philanthropist. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, as of October 7, 2013 he is the richest person in Asia, with a net worth of $28.8 billion. He is the Chairman of the Board of Hutchison Whampoa Limited (HWL) and Cheung Kong Holdings as of 2008; through them, he is the world’s largest operator of container terminals and the world’s largest health and beauty retailer.[6]

Considered one of the most powerful figures in Asia, Li was named “Asia’s Most Powerful Man, Li Ka-Ching” by Asiaweek in 2001. His companies make up 15% of the market cap of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.[7] Forbes Magazine and the Forbes family honoured Li Ka-shing with the first ever “Malcolm S. Forbes Lifetime Achievement Award” on 5 September 2006, in Singapore.[8] In spite of his wealth, Li has cultivated a reputation for leading a no-frills lifestyle, and is known to wear simple black dress shoes and an inexpensive Seiko wristwatch, which is at odds with the house he owns in one of Hong Kong’s most expensive precincts, Deep Water Bay in Hong Kong Island. Li is also regarded as one of Asia’s most generous philanthropists, donating over US $1.41 billion to date to charity and other various philanthropic causes.[9] Li is often referred to as “Superman” in Hong Kong because of his business prowess.[10][11] Because of his wealth, he is regarded as a celebrity, and even has a wax statue in his likeness (the only non-artist to have one in Hong Kong). Li Ka-shing was born in Chaozhou in Guangdong province, China, in 1928 to Teochew descendants. Due to his father’s death, he was forced to leave school before the age of 15 and found a job in a plastics trading company where he laboured 16 hours a day. By 1950 he was able to start his own company, Cheung Kong Industries. From manufacturing plastics, Li led and developed his company into a leading real estate investment company in Hong Kong that was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 1972. Cheung Kong expanded by acquiring Hutchison Whampoa and Hongkong Electric Holdings Limited in 1979 and 1985 respectively.[12]

$25M Feadship Pegasus, formerly known as the White Rabbit

Motor Yacht Pegasus
Pegasus (formerly White Rabbit) is a 52.25m (171’5″ft) motor yacht, custom built in 1995 by Feadship in Aalsmeer (Netherlands). This luxury vessel’s sophisticated exterior design and engineering are the work of De Voogt Naval Architects. The yacht’s interior has been designed by Andrew Winch Designs and has exterior styling by De Voogt Naval Architects. She was last refitted in 2009 by De Vries.

Pegasus has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure with a beam of 9.30m (30’6″ft) and a 3.20m (10’5″ft) draft. This custom yacht is equipped with an ultra-modern stabilization system which reduces roll motion effect and results in a smoother more enjoyable cruising experience. She also features bow thrusters making her more manoeuvrable at low speeds.

Performance + Capabilities
Pegasus has a cruising speed of 16 knots, max speed of 18.30 knots and a range of 5000 nm from her 82150-litre fuel tanks.

Pegasus Accommodation
Pegasus offers accommodation for up to 12 guests. She is also capable of carrying up to 15 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Freeman http://www.lbfmiami.com sold @ absolute auction U.S. $6.8M in luxury realty in the Bahamia Golf & Country Club & @ the Princess Isle Estates on the Caribbean ocean. Pete’s Driftwood, LLC sold 27 oceanfront and canal estate-sized homesites on a spectacular Grand Bahama peninsula, along with 3 additional deepwater dockage canal homesites, 10 golf course multifamily or single family homesites and two 10.5 acre golf course multi-family tracts. In just 14 days 900 inquiries from 14 Nations had occurred. There were 39 registered bidders from 6 States as well as Jamaica and Bermuda.

The luxury yacht Sea Bear is a floating museum, which houses 36 unique pieces hand-selected by Jack and Barbara Nicklaus from the Jack Nicklaus Museum in Columbus, Ohio, as well as items personally donated from their home collection. The vessel comes courtesy of Boat Asia exhibitor KOP Group.

The Westport 130 superyacht Sea Bear’s main showcase piece measures 50 by 36 inches and is placed in the main saloon. Created by artist Pat Morell the piece is made of cherry and features bas-reliefs of all Jack Nicklaus’s major championship trophies, including the US Amateur. Sterling silver plates list the years, venues and scores associated with each victory. A centre plaque features an overview of Jack’s illustrious career, printed on parchment paper.

The news of the Sea Bear yacht’s involvement in this year’s boat show comes amidst numerous other exciting exhibitor signings including Vicem Yachts Turkey, Changi Sailing, Nansha Marina China, Yacht Haven Phuket, LOPE HK, X-tra, Lloyd Marine, Paul & Shark Yachting and Azurea Lifestyle. Also taking part will be Grady White, Chris Craft, MAN Engines, Suzuki Outboards and Seadoo, whilst Boat Asia stalwarts like Gulf Craft, Horizon Yachts and SG Boating, whose brands include Leopard Catamarans, Fairline, Chaparral, Robalo, and Meridian, will also feature prominently. The yacht trade is also well represented with yacht shipment experts Peters and May.
